Parent Teacher Student Association(PTSA)

Welcome to the Andinet International School’s Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) page. We hope you enjoy finding out more about the organization and what we do.

Thanks for being a part of our community, and thank you for your support. It means a lot!

PTSA Mission

Our mission is to build bridges between families and school in our culturally rich community. Through meaningful events and activities, we enhance learning experiences, strengthen communication between home and school, and encourage every child to grow.

PTSA 2016/17 Goals

Over the years, the PTSA has worked to eliminate cultural barriers to education, increase communication between school and parents, encourage parent participation and raise money for AIS student extra-curricular programs.

In the 2016/17 school year, your newly elected PTSA Executive Committee will work to keep up the great work of previous PTSA committees and implement some new goals. These goals include:

  • Get as many members as possible to build a PTSA community that gets involved and makes a difference
  • Draft action plans for four committees addressing issues in academic affairs, health and safety, discipline and different social activities
  • Encourage online communication so we can minimize the amount of paper being sent
  • Establish distribution of a monthly newsletter to strengthen communication and create awareness
  • Increase participation in fundraising for extra-curricular student programs
  • Encourage parent involvement by organizing parents and teachers programs for educational and character building projects
  • Establish standard operating procedures for the PTSA so we can fulfill our expectations

At this point, these goals are just words and there is much work to be done. We can only accomplish them by working together. We therefore encourage you to join the PTSA or reach out to us whenever you have a question or issue you would like to bring attention to, or if you would like help implementing a goal of your own.

The PTSA Executive Committee

AIS PTSA Executive Committee members dedicate at least one – three years of their time and energy to AIS’s PTSA.

AIS PTSA Executive Committee members conduct meetings, recommend programs and partnerships for the benefit of AIS students and teachers, and manage the business operations of the PTSA.

PTSA initiatives are recommended by the Executive Committee and its members. Each one of our initiatives is determined by our guiding principles: to eliminate financial barriers to education, to enhance learning experiences, to strengthen communication between home and school, and to encourage every child to grow. They will be put into effect with the consent and partnership of the AIS administration.

A PTSA Executive Committee member’s term begins on September 1st and concludes on June 30th of the following year. PTSA Executive member nominations are in June and members can join from September.

To get involved, raise your voice and share your ideas, please speak directly to a past or current executive member or email us at andinetparents@gmail.com.

Thanks for being a part of our community, and thank you for your support. It means a lot!
