Meet The School Leadership Team2

Dr. Nefertiti Makeda,Head of School, Global Education and Leadership

A true education stimulates not only the intellect, but opens minds and hearts. It’s an essential key to discovering an individual’s unlimited potential, but education becomes even more powerful when we use it to work together to create a more peaceful, equitable world for everyone.

We must look beyond textbooks and standardized testing to understand how the universe of education is evolving. We must teach students how to use their minds creatively to question and search for divergent answers. The future belongs to creative thinkers—the innovators whose minds thrive on novelty through active and collaborative learning. It will be the creative minds that solve humanity’s greatest challenges.

Ultimately, I believe education must compel each one of us to change. “Be the change we want to see in the world,” as Mahatma Gandhi would say. As the senior school leader, the first transformative step begins with me. I accept change as an inevitable part of growth and I understand a strong moral conviction is essential for meeting the challenges along the way when I am called upon to lead with dignity and grace.

Sisay Negussu M.Ed. Educational Management and Planning, Deputy Head of School.

Every school has its own identity. An excellent education is a common ideal for all schools. How we educate children is the difference! Our motto is to create future leaders: community leaders, state leaders, world leaders. To reach to that level, we need to have confident, responsible and respectful citizens. That is our major focus here at AIS. As the school leaders, we are eager to see our students’ bright future. We need to see our students performing very well on the stage of life. We would like to see many skillful professionals and outstanding public figures among our students. We prepare our students to face all type of challenges with courage.

We have a variety of extra-curricular activities which involve all students from different backgrounds, cultures, countries and religions. We believe in unity through diversity. With the support of responsible parents and committed teachers, we strive for academic excellence and life-long success.

It is a pleasure to say a few words at the launching of Andinet International School’s website. Our website will surely enable us to reach out to whoever wants to know about our school. I am the principal of the Primary Division of Andinet International School (AIS), which has a population of over six hundred students and seventy teachers. It is the largest division in the school.

Who is this website for? Obviously, it is for anyone who is interested. But most of all, the method our students experience learning at AIS demands that the school has a website. Students, parents and the administration can easily communicate, making life much easier for everybody.

This website will undoubtedly speak to all the school’s stakeholders, facilitating relationships and will have a profound impact on the development of the school if we are ready to take advantage of it. Let’s use it!

Hello, and welcome to our Early Childhood Center. We, the EC staff, are a strong and enthusiastic team who work like bees. We believe that the child is the major focus of the kindergarten program. Each child brings unique experiences, expectations, emotions, attitudes, and abilities to the classroom. It is essential that the individual characteristics of each child are accepted, understood, and nurtured. We are proud because we are building the blocks of the future generation.
